Asus Usb Ac56 Driver Windows 10

Hi Folks I bought one of these USB wifi devices - with antenna and the ac protocol was hoping to get really fast wifi speeds. The driver installed OK and I did modprobe -- all OK but not a sausage of any activity on the device. Strangely enough running a WINDOWS VIRTUAL MACHINE on my Centos system I could attach the device (VMware workstation -->attach device) and windows immediately recognized it. Working fine and fast with complete Internet access on the Windows VM --- on the HOST however no way of getting this to work. Detaching from the VM and re-attaching to HOST -- nothing - no access etc etc. Am I doing something wrong or is the device too new for the latest kernel. (Running kernel 3.10.0-327.4.5.el7.x86_64) Virtual Machine is Windows 10 Pro.
