So after testing everything and it all passing I eventually went back to the beginning and reinstalled Windows 10 and at every step of the way I powered off the machine and turned it off at the mains and then drained the capacitors by pressing the power button, then powered it on again. At every step it was fine until I installed the AC68 driver and then it froze on start-up, uninstalled the AC68 driver and it was fine again, reinstalled the driver and it froze.
